LYRICS

LYRICS ADDED AFTER . . .

[Joanna]  -  [When Snow Falls]  -  [After One Kiss]  -  [Phone Call to the Past]

JOANNA

Music by Henry Mancini
Lyrics by Johnny Mercer

"... the 45rpm was recorded on Columbia Records (4-42335)  with Mike Clifford and none other than Johnny Williams & his Orchestra. The record does mention that it is from the "Peter Gunn" series".
From the Hank's Corner submitted by Dan Miles. Now transformed into Nipper's Place

Joanna's like a day
With Summer on the way
All beautiful and gay and bright
One of Joanna's smiles lights up the sky for miles
She walks in beauty through the night
And when does I stand there starry-eyed
I'm so proud that I am by her side
To think we even met
While I can't believe it yet
She really has my heart
And here's the wildest part
Joanna says that she loves me.

WHEN SNOW FALLS (LATIN SNOWFALL)

Music by Henry Mancini
Lyrics by Heather Metcalf

"I have an unreleased recording by a singer named Heather Metcalf who recorded a version
of "Latin Snowfall" to which she added her own lyrics"
From the Hank's Corner submitted by Sean Baker. Now transformed into Nipper's Place

Sleigh bells in the snow,
Candles all a-glow.
The clouds begin to take the place of stars,
And there's a feeling that the world's asleep.

Love is in the air,
I know that you care.
The fire is nice and warm when you're near,
When snowfalls, I love you, dear.

AFTER ONE KISS (THE SOFT TOUCH)

Music by Henry Mancini
Lyrics by Ed Heyman

"I recently picked up the 45rpm of "After Oner Kiss" which is the vocal version of "The Soft Touch" from "Hatari!" Vocal by George Maharis, lyrics by Ed Heyman."
From the Hank's Corner submitted by Dan Miles. Now transformed into Nipper's Place

Chorus:
I want to love so let me be
I want to love you so set me free

Melody:
After one kiss I want to get to love you
I want to get right out of your arms and into your heart
Feeling like this I want to get to know you
I want to get you out of my life and into my heart
I never knew that a kiss had such power
that a love could happen in an hour
After one kiss let me be the one to love you,
let me tonight get out of your arms and into your heart

Chorus:
I want to love so let me be
I want to love you so set me free

Melody:
I never knew that a kiss had such power
that a love could happen in an hour
After one kiss let me be the one to love you,
let me tonight get out of your arms and into your heart

Chorus:
I want to love so let me be
I want to love you so set me free

PHONE CALL TO THE PAST (THEME FOR SAM)

Music by Henry Mancini
Lyrics by Johnny Mercer

"I recently found a version of the Mancini/Mercer tune "Phone Call to the Past" by Mel Torme.
It's the vocal version of "Theme for Sam" from the 1967 film "Gunn"."
From the Hank's Corner submitted by Dan Miles. Now transformed into Nipper's Place

Right over there, there's a tired old phone booth
I got a dime to spend, plenty of time to spend
And I could put an end to my misery
If I could just put in a phone call to the past
Long about now everybody is swingin'
Guys begin rollin' in, couples come strollin' in
And I could make the scene with the rest of them
If I could only make a phone call to the past
This is the way it was and where it was
I'm back at the bar, where I'm a star
It's like I say there's nothin' much new only I haven't got you
But I got a friend and my friends got a bottle
'sept there's no genie there, just a martini there
We sit alone my own little wishin' well
'til we forget to make a phone call to the past
It's like I say, there's nothin' much new only I haven't got you
But I got a friend and my friends got a bottle
'sept there's no genie there, just a martini there
We sit alone my own little wishin' well
Oh, Lord how long is this mood gonna last
If I could only make a phone call to the long, gone past
