Prize:   One (1) book    Case History of a Film Score by Henry Mancini - The Thorn Birds
The book is provided courtesy of Warner Bros. Publications and winners are judged, chosen, and notified by this website
 
Rules:
1. The winner must be a U.S. resident.
2. Only one message per person. If more than one message is received, the last one will enter the qualification, regardless of which one has better answers. 
3. To enter the Contest you must submit your answers to this Questionnaire. The first three answers must be sent, being the last one optional.
 
Duration of the Contest:   Two weeks, from August 23 to September 6, 2004. After the final date, no messages will enter the contest, but the answers can be included in a separate page that is going to be created afterwards.  NEW ! The duration has been extended for two weeks more, that is, it ends on September 20. I will be unavailable from weeks 1 to 3 of September, but I will check all the messages when I return, before the dateline.
 
Schedule:  
August 23 : Start of the Contest and update of the website.
September 20 : Last day for receiving any answers for the Contest.
Around 1 or 2 weeks for reading all the messages and selecting the Winner.
 
Results:  The results will appear on the main page of this website, about one or two weeks after the ending of the contest. The winner will be selected by the owner of this website according to the answers provided. 
 
Ok, I think that is enough for the rules, are you ready ?

1. How many Academy Awards Mancini has won ? Include the years and name of the movies.
2. Name (at least) 3 unreleased Mancini soundtracks that you feel demands an official release.
3. Send your comments or impressions on Mancini's life or work, or comment one or more Mancini recordings (at least 3 lines in total, extend as long as you like, this question will deserve the highest consideration).

4. What instrument was played in the Main Titles of the TV mini-series The Thorn Birds and who played it ? 

The last question will increase your chances on winning, but as you might notice, questions 2 and 3 are qualitative, so I will read them carefully.
